The reason for our travel was a wedding ceremony of my niece Helen. I never thought about the english word but I am her “Godfather”. The word makes me laugh because I will always have in mind Al Pacino and Marlon Brando.

I did not know this but Marlon Brando in 1973 refused to accept his Oscar for his role in The Godfather. I think it makes sense to remember why he did so.
